Teddy reports from Geneva:

A few days after the first photos appeared, Alfa Romeo launched the most powerful MiTo, the 240BHP 1.75 litre GTA version. The car was displayed next to the historical Giulia 1300 Junior GTA. After opening the door we were able to have a look at the interior, which was unknown formerly.

To provide the sporty feeling there are bucket-seats with Sabelt belts and a specially shaped wheel. The speedometer is scaled to 300, and there’s a semaphore in the middle showing the use of the breaks and the indicators. Flawed leather covers the cockpit, the seats and the door panels as well, so they are not reflected on the windows. The pedal, air inlets and the gearshift are remoulded, they look pretty nice. If we missed something there’s a GTA label on the wheel to show us that we are in the 240BHP top version.

Although the body of the GTA is almost the same size as the normal versions it looks more robust and – thank God – less marveling due to the sunk grille shell. The rear is sporty-looking as well with the exhaust integrated into the bumper and the huge diffuser sprawling under.

There are many of the tiny but gorgeous details on the GTA version such as the airbleeder (familiar from the 8C Competizione) that has a small Centro Stile Alfa Romeo label next to the LED indicator. The rear spoiler is good-looking but aerodynamically useless.

All in all Snowwhite looks great and flashy with the graphite wheels and the black rooftop, sills and diffuser. The bustle was pretty high at the tiny Alfa Romeo stage and every other just wanted to have a glace at the MiTo GTA.
