There’s no stopping in the car industry, if it is about environmental protection. Alfa Romeo cannot drop behind, even if it means introducing technology never before seen in the history of the brand. In two weeks, the new Alfa MiTo is about to make its entrance, with a two-cylinder turbo engine.

The new engine made its debute in the Fiat500, with great professional success. It won the titles “International Engine of The Year 2011”, “International Green Engine of The Year 2011” and it also became engine of the year in the under-1000ccm-category. The new baby’s strength is not its power, though it should not be ashamed of its 85 HP and 145 Nm. What the new MiTo can really be proud of is its CO2 emission: it is just below the dream limit, 98g/km.

Fortunately, the new MiTo has other qualities as well, making driving an even better experience. The 170 HP luxury version will have an electric shock-absorber system, reducing vehicle oscillation in all driving conditions, regardless of the D.N.A. operating mode.

In addition to the new features; new colours, shades, inside and outside accessories will also be available in the MiTo, all after the Motor Show.

Giulietta will be equipped with the twin-clutch automatic transmission, already known from MiTo. The transmission nicknamed TCT is combined with the 170 HP 1.4 TB MultiAir ("Best New Engine 2010") and 170 HP 2.0 JTDM engines. With the new transmission, the 1.4 TB Giulietta runs the 100 km/h sprint in just 7,7 seconds, while its fuel consumption is 5,2l/100 km.

Finally, the most exciting novelty, the Holy Grail of Alfa Romeo, the swift and strong sportscar: 4C Concept. The concept car premieres in Frankfurt in another level and in a breathtaking "Fluid Metal" exterior colour. Apart from the information already known, nothing else has been leaked from the headquarters.

What is certain, is that dashboard hasn’t been changed – yet. The form remained the same, copying the style of Ferrari 458 Italia: the digital accessories surround the driver.

The rear-wheel, 850 kg drive sportscar with 200 HP is promised to make its debut in 2013.
